Her story

Preeti’s story

When someone in Preeti’s family faced a serious health challenge, she was heartbroken to see how food, which should nourish, seemed to cause harm. With an engineering mindset she turned to research and Western nutrition, created her own recipes and taught her family about mindful eating. It did not give her the results she was hoping for.

Seeking deeper answers, she found “Integrated Ayurveda, Yoga, and Western Medicine” at Mount Madonna Institute, College of Ayurveda in Watsonville, and became a certified Ayurveda Health Counselor. Changes to her own diet and daily habits showed her what Ayurvedic principles could do, and in 2010 she founded Minute Wonder, starting with friends, family and her community.

She went on to study classical Ayurveda in depth and to train in India. Before Minute Wonder she worked as a health data statistician, so she brings analytical thinking, Western food-industry insight and business knowledge, together with her devotion to Ayurveda, to every consultation.

Your doctor stays in charge

How Preeti works alongside your doctor

Ayurveda is a non-licensed profession in California, so Preeti’s Ayurvedic Doctor-level certification is a certification and not a medical license. Minute Wonder does not diagnose pathological conditions from a Western perspective. That is a strength for you: her work complements the care of your physician and never replaces it.

Tell her about every medical condition, medication and supplement. She asks about current medications at your consultation so your plan can be set up safely, and some conditions and medications need your physician’s input first. Do not stop or change a prescribed medicine on your own.
